This blog was created for me to have an outlet for more floral creative, but I also like to pull other hobbies/loves of mine into my blog to draw other readers. So here we are, talking about books. I have put together my summer reading list that you are welcome to follow along with if you'd like.
Basically, when it comes to most things, I don't like to follow what's "trending" or popular, especially with books. I am going to read what I want and it may be a brand new book or it may be old. These are a collection of all kinds.
Please comment and tell you some of the books you are reading this summer! I would love to know! You can also follow along with my on GOODREADS.
I also like doing Reading Challenges throughout the year. HERE is one that I am following this year!
This is a little styled shoot I did for this months arrangement. It's amazing what you can do at your own table. In this arrangement I used; Pink Peony, Deep Purple Ranunculus, White Lisianthus, Dark Pink Roses, Apple Blossom, Wax flower and an array of Greenery.
Last week I traveled to Miami for some fun in the sun! It wasn't our first choice, but after our cruise to the Bahama's was cancelled last minute, we decided to make the best of it and I believe it was even better! Here are some snapshots from my trip! And yes of course there's flower pictures!
Nora Grant, one of the most common flowering bushes in South Florida.
Versace Mansion, fact: Gianni Versace was killed right there on the front steps of his house...spooky.
Dash store owned by the Kardashian sisters. Not impressed...
I love Typography. Best app for that WordSwag!
Weigela, pink flowering bush.
Ti Plant, bright red foliage.
Green Peperomia bush.
At a restaurant called "Mangos" the drink cost $30 BUT they sneakily made us think it was only $15. South Beach is stretch y'all!
Silver Buttonwood, I want this in every bouquet I ever make!
These large trellises were in a park in the middle of the city. Climbing up the trellis are Bougainvillea.
Cute book store in South Beach, Books & Books.
I love the color of the houses and the pops of colors from the florals!
This was the start of our unofficial house tour. We just started walking south towards the residential areas to look at all the beautiful houses and the floral landscapes. It was like something I have never seen before! Miami i am envious!
These yellow trees (Yellow Tabebuia) look like buttered popcorn in the sky. So wonderful!
Calliandra aka Powder-Puff Tree.
I have this thing with old - cool looking doors. I was in heaven on Pinetree Drive.
I lived in this hat! ASOS fedora beach hat!
Miami was great! Better than my friend Allie & I would have ever thought! I have some great spots if any of you decide to go, seek me out!
Enjoy the day!
Succulents! I just love them! They are all so unique and different from each other. Here is an little DIY in honor of my love for Succulents.
Here's what you'll need:
A variety of real (or fake) succulents, floral wire, heavy duty scissors or wire cutters, and a wreath form. This wreath I bought from good will for $1 and stripped it of all it's corny fake foliage.
Next you want to push your wire through the back side of the succulent. If you are using real ones, like I am, you want to be very careful, succulents are pretty fragile.
For some larger one you may even need to go back through several times to make a sturdier connection.
Then just weave and wrap the wire around your wreath form until it feels well secure.
And keep repeating. I liked to spread them out a bit and then cluster a few. It made it look more natural. I also liked the look of the stick wreath with the greens of the succulents.
Don't you just love succulents?!
