In trying to include more followers to my blog I have decided to try and incorporate more things that I am passionate about while still sticking with my floral theme. The other night I was watching a movie (that I didn't care for) and decided to count how many flower arrangements I saw. There were sooo many! And that's when I decided to start this new series. I'm going to recreate floral arrangements in classic movies (requests are a must). First up, ONE of my favorites (I'm saving my favorite for last), You've Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I was going to wait until fall to do this movie since the majority of it takes place in that season, but I was just too excited about this blog series!
Seriously though, who doesn't love this movie?! It is a classic and such a feel good movie! Meg Ryan's character, Kathleen Kelly, owns this adorable book shop, The Shop Around the Corner, in New York City that has extreme charm! Side Note: For those who love black & white films, rent The Shop Around the Corner, so good! Tom Hank's Character, Joe Fox, is a corporate big shot whose family owns a large chain store; Fox Books and is coming "just around the corner". As the movie poster says, they may be at odds in life, but online that's not the case...
This is the scene where she is watching to make sure her strange leftist postmodernist newspaper writing boyfriend, Frank, is long gone before she logs onto AOL to see if she has mail...
Flowers: A tad hard to see...Two-toned orange tulips, I'm sure of it!
This is one of the first scenes in Kathleen Kelly's charming little book shop!
Flowers: Two-toned orange roses....I sense a theme.
This scene is one of my favorites, She's waiting at the café for NY152 (Tom hanks) with her favorite book, Pride & Prejudice, and a single red rose.
Then the signature arrangement that truly makes the movie...
"Don't you think daises are the friendliest flower?" -Kathleen Kelly
And this is just for those who love this movie as much as I do...
If you haven't seen this movie, go out today and rent it, HECK buy it! It's that good.
